Application Instructions

Welcome to the University of Louisville Post-Bac Pre-Med Program application! Before you begin, please take your time to ensure you have all of the required documents and information prepared before starting the application. Each file should be clearly labeled and as proper files (PDF/Word for essays and CV; JPEG/PNG for screenshots of test scores).

Resume/CV
- Please name your file with the following format: yourfirstname-yourlastname-resume
- Word Limit: No word or page limit.
- Content: Provide a detailed summary of your academic, professional, and volunteer experiences. Highlight any awards, honors, or recognitions you have received.
Program Alignment Essay
- Please name your file with the following format: yourfirstname-yourlastname-programalignment
- Word Limit: 1000 words maximum.
- Content: Explain why you have chosen the University of Louisville Post-Bac Pre-Med Program and identify specific aspects of the program that align with your goals and will support your success.
Physician Attributes Essay
- Please name your file with the following format: yourfirstname-yourlastname-attributes
- Word Limit: 1000 words maximum.
- Content: Discuss your aspirations to become a physician. Include the personal and professional attributes that make you well-suited for a career in medicine.
Special Circumstances Essay (Optional)
- Please name your file with the following format: yourfirstname-yourlastname-specialcircumstances
- Word Limit: 1000 words maximum.
- Content: Share any unique or challenging circumstances you would like the committee to consider. These may include academic, professional, or personal obstacles you have faced and how you overcame them.
Test Scores
You must provide a copy of one of your test scores. Unofficial copies or a screenshot with identifying information is acceptable. Please name your file with the following format: yourfirstname-yourlastname-XYZtestscore. If you haven’t taken the MCAT or GRE, please provide a copy of the scores received from one of the following:
- SAT
- ACT
- GMAT
- LSAT
If you no longer have your scores, please go to the associated website or call to retrieve your scores.
Transcript(s)
- Please name your file with the following format: yourfirstname-yourlastname-transcript
- Please upload every transcript for every university you attended. This can be unofficial but please note that you will need the official version if you do get accepted to the program.
